Zanzibar Experience - create an upward spiral to vitality, resilience and wellbeing.

June 6 - 10 2025 (Only a total of 10 spaces)

This appeals to a very specific person with a particular need. You will feel it in your body if
that is you.
To step out, pause, be present and observe, build and expand. To breathe. To bring back to consciousness and focus the meaning and purpose that carries life. To align habits and behaviour, energise and recommit to vitality, resilience and wellbeing. To interrupt the pattern and clear a path into an upward spiral for the remainder of 2025.
Although you are in / have undergone professional mental health treatment, you still feel stuck in limbo, self-doubt, fatigue, hopelessness, anxiety and intense emotions. Is this just what your experience of life is now, or do you want more? (about me)
What is a coaching-centred approach? Through guided and positive future-focused work I will facilitate your own journey to uncover and clearly define what it means to you to not be depressed, and you will create an action, reflection and intention-based commitment to change your experience of every day. You will create an upward spiral - to look forward to vitality, optimism and resilience.
The Zanzibar Experience does not intend to replace any other treatment you might be on or need. We will not attempt to diagnose, label or treat any mental or physical condition, dig into your childhood, unpack trauma or decode your past. That is the role of psychotherapy. The Zanzibar Experience is about discovery - turning toward your preferred life. It is grounded in the truth that you have the internal resources to create, and that consciousness, behaviour (action) and meaning change the way you be and feel.

Coming away on an intentional experience creates the ideal environment for personal breakthroughs and clarity because it removes you from your usual routines, distractions, and stressors. Several factors contribute to the outcome:
1. Mental Space and Stillness – Recovery, rest, reflection, and mindfulness give your mind the opportunity to process energy, thoughts and emotions that may be buried under daily noise. This stillness allows insights to surface.
2. Disconnection from Daily Life – Being away from your normal environment breaks habitual patterns and provides a fresh perspective. This distance can make it easier to see situations, problems, habits, or desires more clearly.
3. Focused Introspection – Through the gentle guidance of coaching and reflection, connection with like-minded people, meditation and journaling, you explore deeper and discover a more authentic and clearer route to vitality, resilience and wellbeing.
4. Supportive Environment – Surrounding yourself and connecting with like-minded individuals on a similar journey, the deep personal experience and insightful approach of your coach, and immersing yourself in nature creates a sense of safety and inspiration, fostering personal growth.
5. Intentional Focus – This week has a definite purpose - for you to interrupt the downward spiral, accept a different experience, and return afterwards rested, more conscious and inspired to continue walking in your power. It is not therapy. It is discovery.
6. Physical and Emotional Reset – We will hold loving space, breathe, eat well, rest, experience joy, have fun and move our bodies. This will help to balance the nervous system, making it easier to access clarity, insight, and calm realisation.
7. Time Away from Pressure – Without the need to respond to emails, deadlines, or expectations, you have the freedom to listen to your inner voice and wisdom without interference.
I will guide the experience and your self-work through a carefully crafted process of some teaching, coaching questions and tools that encourage self-awareness, unlock personal insights, deepen value and meaning, and drive clear and realistic action and commitment. The work and your outcome is completely personal and private. You will not be asked to do or share anything you are not completely comfortable with. After the experience, I invite you to meet with me and your peers in a weekly Zoom 90-minute support and encouragement discussion, for three months.

Zanzibar Experience Programme
Plan to arrive on the 5th June during the day. We will all meet for a quick introductory session on the late afternoon of that day, for two hours, after which we can enjoy dinner together or you can do your own thing. On the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th, we will spend 3 "formal" hours together each day between 08h00 and 11h00 in facilitated coaching. The rest of the day is yours to dispose of as you like. I imagine some of this time you will want to invest in your own self-work. If you want to hang out with me, this is what my programme will look like outside of our formal coaching sessions, if you want to join me:
05h45 - meditation (30 min)
06h30 - sunrise daily intention-setting and journaling (about an hour)
08h00 - our coaching process (3 hours)
12h00 - excursion / activity - I haven't planned all these yet, but sure to include some snorkelling, trip to Stone Town, hike in the forrest, chilling on the beach, etc. Will see how we go (about 3 hours)
16h00 - some exercise - jog, yoga, HIIT workout - something (about 45 min)
17h00 - no plans for rest of the night - see how we go
Anticipated investment
17 hours in total of group formal coaching facilitation by myself - R6 000. This is for the planned group sessions, and you will be doing a lot of your own work during the days based on this coaching. Besides the 3-hour daily planned sessions, we are going to spend long hours together over and above this - walking on the beach, watching sunsets and sunrises, moving our bodies and quieting our minds - taking in what the island has to offer - and many insights and breakthroughs will happen when we, as fellow travellers, connect with the intention of supporting and helping each other.
My return flight with Kenya Airways came in at R12 103.74, from Cape Town.
I have booked my accommodation at the Equalia Rose Hotel in Jambiani through booking.com, and it came to R889 / night.
It would be best if you made your own travel and accommodation arrangements to suite your style, location and budget preference. There are many great places to stay in Jambiani. Look on booking.com and AirBnB. Try be reasonably close to the centre of Jambiani as this is where we will have our workshop sessions, and meet for various activities. Here is a map of Jambiani and where I will be staying. https://maps.app.goo.gl/3eixGakLwK7XYr9u9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
